sold LA Olds Studio Trumpet -1950 s/n 36013

This Trumpet Has Been SOLD. This reconditioned and re-lacquered used LA Olds Studio Trumpet serial number 36013 was made in 1949 or 1950 and is priced at only $650 plus $35 shipping. From an old brochure:

“The Studio  “Brillant Bell” creates, in this instrument, a trumpet of unusual characteristics with rich tonal resonance.  Nickel silver and brass in the bell of the STUDIO Trumpet allow the maximum amount of free vibration for full tone quality.  The nickel silver tuning crook, the hand grips on the valves, and the third valve slide give maximum wear resistance. The light, effortless action is fast and dependable and careful balancer assurs a true scale.”

Overall for a 60-year old trumpet, this one is in great shape and it really sounds great. In our estimation, it plays better than many of the newer more expensive trumpets made today. Possibly the “spectrum-tone bell makes the difference.”

We saw an Olds Studio trumpet similar to this one sell recently for $1660 and there is one listed on another website for $1450. We think this one is being sold at a bargain price. It comes with a good used case and a used Olds mouthpiece.
