Talk about late bloomers, the abstract painter Carmen Herrara,94, is finally getting recognized. She’s painted for years for the sake of painting, and takes a ‘no nonsense’ approach to interpreting her paintings. When it was suggested that one painting was female and sensual, she said: “Look, to me it was white, beautiful white, and then the white was shrieking for the green, and the little triangle created a force field.
